As a business in the San Joaquin Valley, you’re in a position to greatly influence our air quality through voluntary measures you take and the example you set for your workforce. Throughout the air basin, businesses are some of our staunchest partners in working toward cleaner air for all of us.

For example, you can take an active role in improving air quality through “green” contracting and purchasing “green” products. Going “green” may also help your bottom line! When you search for contractors, ask whether they utilize green products, such an non-VOC or low-VOC coatings, solvents and cleaning solutions. When contractors use combustion equipment such as engines or boilers, ask whether their equipment is the lowest pollution-emitting device. Better yet, build into your contracts language that requires the use of green practices, equipment and products.

Another way to dramatically reduce emissions is to shift your emissions during poor air-quality episodes (see Shifting Your Emissions below).
