Older, wood-burning stoves and inserts – and open-hearth fireplaces – emit substances that pollute our air basin. By switching to a cleaner-burning device, you can reduce these dangerous emissions and save money!
The type of unit you can purchase depends on what you are replacing.

You can receive up to $500 cash back on your purchase – $1,500 if you are a low-income resident (verification required)!
Eligible areas
If you live within the boundaries of the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District, you may be eligible!
Residence must be in San Joaquin, Stanislaus, Merced, Madera, Fresno, Kings, Tulare or the portion of Kern County within the Valley air basin.

The Valley Air District is offering cash back on the purchase of a:
- Freestanding gas stove or gas insert = $500
- Freestanding pellet stove or pellet insert = $250
- Freestanding certified wood stove or certified wood insert = $100
- Low Income (any device) = $1,500
