Dates
- The Commute Green in the San Joaquin “Kids' Edition” Challenge runs Oct. 5-9, 2009.
- Schools that wish to participate must register by October 2, 2009. For registration inquiries, concerns or late registrations please contact Maricela Velasquez by phone at 559-230-5849 or via email to maricela.velasquez@valleyair.org.
Team Captains
- Prior to registration, the team captain must receive authorization from their management to participate in the Commute Green in the San Joaquin “Kids' Edition” Challenge and to act on behalf of his or her school.
- Each team captain must complete the registration form prior to the October 2, 2009 deadline. Captains also are responsible for collecting entry forms from students for each day of the Challenge and mailing the entry forms to the District office at the end of the contest.
- Please bundle all entry forms together in a large envelope or box and return them to the Valley Air District by Oct. 16, 2009. All entries must be received at one of the District's three offices or postmarked by Oct. 16, 2009. The locations of the three offices are listed on the last page of this document.
- Incomplete or illegible entry forms will not be considered.
Photographs
- Schools are encouraged to take photographs of their students and submit them to the SJVAPCD via e-mail at public.education@valleyair.org.
Prizes
- Prizes will be awarded to the school with the highest participation level in each county of the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District.
- Prizes for each county can include a trophy, bike and helmet, and 25 t-shirts. Every participant will receive a Certificate of Participation.
