Kids for Clean Air nets more than 7,000 pledges

The Kids for Clean Air Contest concluded in March with a total of 7,455 pledges turned in by 1,776 fourth- and fifth-grade students from throughout the Valley.

Kids for Clean Air was a key part of Healthy Air Living’s winter program, and encouraged elementary-school students to obtain clean-air pledges from their friends and families in order to reduce emissions and live a Healthy Air life.

Twenty-seven classrooms in all eight counties of the Valley air basin were awarded prizes that included an iPod Shuffle for each student and a $250 resource grant for their teacher. The classes and their teachers were recognized at the April 16 Governing Board meeting. Winning Classrooms.
